I don’t have a dog, but if I did I would put my doggy on the seatbelt/doggy car seat. Just looks uncomfortable. Gonçalo Policarpo why are you so mean? I think this point is very valid this position is not “normal” for a dog and around their private parts?

Ps dogs have been riding in cars since the car were invented. I’m not a vet but would this position even be safe for internal organs as I presume dogs are designed on the inside to be belly down as opposed to upright ?? Just a thought. I’m not always comfortable when I wear my seatbelt, especially on long trips. How uncomfortable would those dogs be after they smashed through a windshield? This seems like a good idea. A little effort an expense – but a good idea. Keeps them from getting around your feet while trying to drive too.
This would hurt my dachshund and corgis backs. And yes they have to be in the car to go to the vet since it’s not in walking distance. I would never put them in this. It looks uncomfortable. I strap mine in with their regular Dodidog harness then attach a seatbelt strap that I put through the normal seatbelt and go. My pups can sit like normal but my mind is at ease. I got the seatbelt strap from Petsmart for less than $20. This video looks like a good idea but once you start to think about it, it’s not comfortable for them.

Gonçalo Policarpo how do you figure that ? They need to go to the vets office, groomers if they don’t use a mobile one, some of them are service dogs, your comment is invalid dopey! I’m also worried about their backs sitting in a position like this. My mom always told me not to hold my dog like that so I kept it in mind. No idea if it’s true tho . We have a Saluki, there is no way me or my wife would be able to lift him one handed while doing up the clasp with the other hand.

They like riding in cars, usually…but, they are not humans and this seems odd to see them strapped in this way…better with a tether leash, so they can lie down or sit up! I agree dogs aren’t comfortable sitting like that.
